Heatwave lives on in central England

The recent heatwave lives on in central England, not in the usual number of hot days, but in the number of warm nights that have become almost as much an issue across the country during August than the actual heatwave itself. Provisionally August has not only created one record highest maximum (on the glorious twelfth), but also three record highest minimum by night (12th, 13th & 16th). The warm spell (anomalies >= 2°C) by day lasted some nine days for maximum temperatures, but the one for warm nights has now lasted sixteen day and is still ongoing.
