June 2020 in Central England

CET in June's 1878-2020

June 2020 was rather cold from the 3rd to the 9th, but this was offset by a couple of wam spells later in the month, the second of which from the 20th to the 27th produced a couple of hot days that set new maximum records on the 24th and the 25th. Overall the mean maximum was 19.96°C and the mean minimum 10.66°C, which were 1.39°C and 0.94°C above the 1961-1990 LTA. That made June 2020 the 42nd warmest since 1659 so nothing to compete with the anomalies across Scandinavia this June. The linear trend from 1878 shows a modest rise of +0.05°C per decade and its seems a really long time since we’ve seen a really cold one.
