The winter of 1946-47 and 1962-63 compared

A quick look back at temperatures in central England in two of the most severe winters across the UK in living memory, the snowy harsh winter of 1946-47 and the big freeze of 1962-63. Maybe winter 2020-21 might be a late starter like 1946-47 was, or maybe it’ll just produce a very cold and snowy December like 2010? The most likely scenario is that it will end up as another addition to the eight that are already in the top forty mildest since 1659.
